Originally by: Nooey Come on people, I realise the need to engage in forum warfare and get your own view of the war out there, but so far this thread doesn't really inform people of anything they weren't aware of already. Saying "There's a massive amount of people arrayed against LV" isn't exactly informative now is it?
For those directly involved in this area of the campaign (and I'm not, hence me asking) can we get some hard facts beyond the blindingly obvious? There's nothing so far presented in this thread that would tell a complete outsider anything definitive about the LV campaign beyond "There's a lot of people that want them dead, and numbers should win out against them".
Why not tell people what those numbers are equating to in real terms, using real facts that people can't dispute things like:
- How much space did LV control before the campaign, how much do they control now? What Stations/Outposts and strategic areas have switched control? - Who has been winning the Fleet Battles? Has it been a one-sided affair? Have both sides enjoyed victories at one time or another? How has this shaped the conflict? - How has the POS warfare been progressing? What sides have successfully defended their POS and saved them from being taken down entirely? Both sides? One side more than the other? - What is the status of Capital ship attrition? It's a known fact that LV's Titan-to-be was taken down, but what other capitals have been lost on both sides? - What is the capabilities of both sides to outlast their enemy? Who likely has the industrial backing to survive a war of outright attrition? - And on the sheer numbers factor, what exactly are the numbers on each side roughly? How important are they in shaping the conflict? How important are other factors like the quality of fleets versus the size of fleets?
Basically, let the facts speak for themselves. By all means, offer some interpretations on what those facts equate to for you (this is where forum warfare should really reside, based on a comprehensive detailing of the facts of the matter). Yeah, I've got a side in this conflict for sure, doesn't mean I don't want to hear some basic facts. If LV are truly getting owned, then why not spell out exactly how in real terms relevant to the campaign to support that statement? That's what the sister thread to this does to a degree. Saying "The people are coming with pitchforks" is hardly a comprehensive list of evidence.
So, people involved, let's hear something more solid to support your case. Not saying you don't have those facts to back you up, just that I've not seen them listed here yet.
Good heavens: A rational and well thought out post. This is still the CAOD forum right? I am not sure that a post of this nature has any place here, just going by the last week.
Now, to the OP: Saying something as often as you can does not make it true. What will happen will happen but I would not hold my breath, the end is still a looong way off. In the end it will be dedication and staying power which win the day, not forum propaganda and asshattery.
